I'm a light runner - normally go for a Bay Run (7km - 33-35mins) once a week, upping to some 12-14km runs in the lead up to the City2Surf. Run as part of keeping fit (also do weights and cycling) as opposed to a sheer love of running.

Currently run in 2090s but think it will be time to get a new pair soon. And want to run a little more as hoping to break 70mins for C2S.

I know 2090s are no longer made. Can anyone suggest their equivalent in Asics current range?

I over-pronate and had the 2090s fitted at the running shop in Randwick.

Thanks.

Where have you been ? ;)

GT-2090 was 2004 batch. A logical replacement would be GT-2100 (2005 batch) or GT-2110 (2006 batch).

If you want a more basic version, then GT-1100 or GT-1110 is another option.

... or otherwise, try the Brooks equivalent, Adrenaline, which I feel do a better job that the recent Asic's versions, and can also be a bit cheaper, depending on where you shop.

2110 - very good shoe. If you liked the 2090 these should suit you as well

Hi rawkus,
I'm onto my second pair of 2110's...I love them as they suit me and I don't even realise I'm wearing them.

Not sure where you are exactly, but I picked mine up from Luke's Northside Runners at Manly for $169. They were really knowledgeable and helpful.

Also noticed Athletic Edge Online at Randwick have them listed for $170.

I wouldn't imagine you'd find them much less than that apart from ebay or the like.

If you're in Sydney, you could try "The Sydney Running Centre" (it's actually a shop) in the Edgecliff Centre on New South Head Road, Edgecliff NSW 2027. Phone Number is (02) 9362 0422.

A few people recommended it to me and then when I got back into running, I bought my GT2110s there at a good price.

Also, the two older guys that run the store ARE long-time marathon runners and there's a little treadmill in-store to try the shoes on.

Was a good experience for me. They actually knew exactly what the were talking about (unusual for a store nowadays). They put my wife in a great shoe too (Brooks).

Good luck.
