Hiya all,
Its about that time to replace my shoes again and i thought id go off to a specialist runners shop to get some advice before making a decision.
Does anyone know of a good store around the penrith region, anywhere between the lower mountains and parramatta would be fine if the staff where good enough
thanks
John

As far as I know, there are no good running shops near Penrith.
You'd be far better making a day of it and going to either Clovelly or Manly. Or even Canberra.

There was a 'Runner's Shop' in Penrith, which was a specialty running store with a very knowledgeable owner.
Unfortunately I can't remember the details of it (it was a couple of years ago), but it opened up not long after Robert Sharp's Running Store at Parramatta closed down.
Surely it is still around???? Check in the Yellow Pages for 'The Runner's Shop'.

Sydney Running Centre above Edgecliff station. A haul for you to get there, but Damian Tancred knows his stuff and runs 35 minute 10ks, and you can test run the shoes outside (and weigh them on the green grocers scales down the street ;) ). Highly recommended.

You can add me in on this too - Damien helped me out a fortnight ago, very knowledgeable on matching shoes to runners.

I'd like to give Damien a plug too. Shoe expert and all round good guy.
But Action, will he be happy to be called a 35min 10k runner when he ran 34:02 despite advancing years and under trying conditions at Lane Cove only last Saturday?

Phantom, thank you for pointing out my error. I stand corrected. Exactly a year ago Damian ran 33:39 at Lane Cove, then backed up in August with a 33:49. Definitely a 33 minute 10k man! :)
