On page 22 of the latest Triathlon & Multi Sport (the one with Robbo on the front) there is an advert for Brooks Epiphany.
Does anyone know anything about this shoe? Following is the write up on it :
"a revelation in performance cushioning. Epiphany represents a fusion of Brooks technologies with some of the most advanced materials ever used in a performance running shoe. This state of the art high-mileage cushion trainer delivers an unrivaled, energy returning ride. The new Epiphany is designed for the neutral to supinated foot type"
Is this shoe similar to the trance?
Anyone?

Wow!!!!! The copywriter must have been on fire that day.
Probably comes with an unrivalled, state-of-the-art price tag as well :)

The trance is designed for a moderate pronator. If anything, the Epiphany would be similar to the Brooks Glycerin and Illusion, and the asics nimbus and kumo.

Have just been into my local shoe store and asked if they had the Epiphany in stock. Thought I would have a look at it, however they havent got stock in yet, but I was told that it is above the Trance, both in features and price!
Didnt have a price for it yet but they sell the trace for $200 so I would imagine $220 or thereabouts.
Might see if it comes up on their website,.

The mind boggles, I wonder how many days running I could get for my $200 plus dollars, at the rate of 200 kms a week.
These shoes are like Bungy jumping - a few seconds of exhilaration, then it's time for a new shoe up-date with an even better "unrivalled ride".
My shoes wear out so fast, I can't even make friends with them.

Jumper, you can always go the George Audley route and replace the worn bits with steel-belted rubber from old car tyres B)

I hear that these shoes will be available in April. You will be lucky to get them for $220 or thereabouts, as the retail price is said to be $270.

In the days of the $200 Kayano X at Rebel Sports , that sounds a touch high.

Had the Brooks rep out at work to show us 2004 shoes, Epiphany looks nice, seamless inside for non-sock wearers or triathletes, silicon outsole, don't know about durability but definitely looks different and off the top of my head I think it has 3 different densities in the midsole, not hard medial/soft outside like most shoes. Time will tell whether it's a good shoe.

I get Brooks trance for $200 and Asics DS trainer for $170, so I wont be paying out $270 for these.
Be interested to see what makes them such an expensive shoe.
