Heading to the Big Smoke this w/end and hoping to buy an new pair of shoes. Currently running out a pair of Asics Kayanos - satisfied with them to date. But curious to know what others may recommend for 94/95kg runner, not graceful who does three runs per week - longest of about 12kms.
Thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanxs.

I'm not a shoe expert (or a big bloke), but I think you should look at the Brooks Beasts, or if you want to stay with ASICS, take a look at the Koji.

Damien Tancred's Sydney Running Centre at Edgecliff can obtain Asics 1090s in up to a size 17. I'm wearing a size 16 4E width at the moment. :)

I'm not much lighter than you and wear Brooks Adrenaline and Asics 2090.
I've worn Asics Koji, but found them too heavy.

I weigh in at approx 100kg. I've tried most brands over the years and am now very happy with the Mizuno Wave Renegade. The Running Centre at Edgecliff has them.

Hi Big Bird,
Have a look at the rear profile of your old Kayanos to see if the heel counter is still vertical. If they lean in you may need more support as the Kayano is a mild/moderate control shoe.
Most really heavy blokes seem to over-pronate so for your weight, you should consider Brooks Beast, Addiction, New Balance 1220 or Asics MC Plus. To be sure, get assessed by a sports podiatrist, and they will be able to tell you the right shoes to wear.(A good choice would be Allan Boys-Hamilton 49614411).
Also be aware that you need to replace them more frequently than lighter runners will.
Cheers, Andy

Thanx for all the responses so rapidly. I appreciate the collective concern. Thanx for the suggestion about Alan Boyes - my son is under his care - so maybe I should do the same.
Again, many thanx - have a few options to look at this w/end.

Hi BigBird,
I'm 6'2" and about 88kg, I use the Asics 2070,80,90 series and have been very happy with them. Given your mileage i would be tempted to say "if it ain't broke don't fix it". If you did increase the k's a bit, certainly get some professional opinion.
