Hi,
anyone care to share their experiences with running on Mizuno Mercury III?
I just bought my first pair after running in Asics. My profile is that I am a neutral runner, covering around 50-60 km /week. C2S in 75 mins, 10km bridge run in 47 min (both with the dreaded plantar faciitis <_< )
To me, the two shoes are comparable (so far) except for the price.
experiences with Mizuno Mercury III?

Ok, from my knowledge the shoe isnt totaly neutral, the wave creation is more their neutral shoe as well as the Rider and Mustang! What asics shoe were you running in last time? Kayano, 2080, 1080? The Mercury will be similar to those shoes in the form of stability but has far better cusioning than the asics model. Durability.. about the same, weight, about the same, possibly lighter in the mizuno, only difference being really in the cushioning that im aware of. Should take you about 800km before it dies like any top end shoe, depending on running surface, body weight etc. What asics were you running in previously, and the Mizunos will be about $10-$20 cheaper for the equivalent in an Asics, but why go to the asics when it has less cusioning anyways?? ;)

I had previously run in the 2080s -- which I found to be fine on my usual 10km run, but at the end of my weekly long run found that I was wishing that they were a little more cushioned in the forefoot area.
Interestingly, the forefoot area of the 2080s (under the balls of my feet) seemed to suffer a fair bit of wear and compression, whereas the rest of the midsole and outsole were pretty much OK.
Overpronation, I thought. However, both the sports podiatrist and physio that has been treating me independently stated that the biomechanics of both feet were fine, and were neutral to slight overpronation (on one foot only).
Hence I am trying out the Mizunos....
