For my International Marketing class I have been assigned to research selling running shoes in Australia. Can anyone tell me the range of prices for men's running shoes in Australia? For women's?
Also, if any one is willing to keep answering...What are the popular colors? I have many questions my group is researching, if anyone is willing to talk. Thank you for any answers and help you are willing to give.

Aquasocks are 6 AUD. They are not only significantly cheaper than Nike Frees, they are also much better to simulate barefoot running.

[/indent]Eh - I'm sailing pretty close to the office dress standards as it is. I'll stick with the Frees.

Hi j! Best of luck with the project.
As the others have mentioned, most shoe websites will give you a good idea on prices. You can generally buy a decent pair of running shoes for anywhere from $100, but they can (now) go up as high as $300. The most common, 'middle of the road' price range is probably around $140 - $220. You'll find that a fair number of runners here in Australia actually look at buying shoes via the internet overseas (most commonly the US) because they can generally be found cheaper over there.
As to colours, personal preferences will vary pretty wildly. However, it's hard to find green or yellow unless you're looking at racing shoes (referred to as 'racing flats' if you see the term on a website somewhere). The most commonly available colours (i.e. those most commonly made by the manufacturers) would be whites, reds, blues and combinations of those.
Hope that helps a little

Remember that any prices above or on the web site are Aussie dollars, so multiply by about 0.74 to get US$. Miners is right, common range is $100-$200, with the Asics Kayano probably the top of the range real running shoe at about $250. This is a good list of threads about shoes down under.. Have a look at Loco Loco as well for good value shoes.
