Does anyone in Melb know the name of a little old shop (in the Preston area I think) that sells runners at a very discounted price (so I am told). ie. Asics, adidas etc....
It's also cash only!!
It's owned by an older woman, and run by herself and family I beleive.????

Yeah, that store is dirt cheap. I reckon you end up spending the difference on petrol trying to find the place though.

From what I understand, Mr Leo Russell passed away many years ago, and the shop is run my Mrs Russell and family members. It stocks running gear as well as cricket stuff. Ascis, but no Nike though. Mrs Pasty buys shoes from there.

It's actually only about 8km north of the city up Brunswick Street which continues north as St Georges Rd.

Certainly get's my vote for Melbourne running shoe shops. For ASICS wearers it's definitely worth the effort to get there.

I go through shoes like they are going out of fashion, is there anywhere in brisbane where you can get cheap (good) shoes.

Is it just me, or do most asics run out of steam after 500k. i always wear 2090's.

Leo Russel's gets my vote too. $120 for 1090s is hard to beat. However, if Asics aren't your thing, Runners' World in High St Kew is a good option. They know runners (because they are runners), they have a wide range & their prices are a lot better than the chains like Athlete's Foot. They also offer discounts to Athletics Vic members. :)

Gday Wilbur

Leo's is a great place - always jam packed full of people. Be wary they shut there doors at 12.00pm on Saturdays - and dont forget their cash only

Another great place for runners is Sims in Moonee Ponds - they are usually willing to match prices and will even let you use credit card!

Good luck. :)
