Am interested in getting some feedback from anyone either using or has used either of the above shoes.
The Axiom got a fairly good report in the Shoe review in RW (March) and I noticed that it weighs less than the Asics DS Trainer but is in the stability category. Am told it has more cushioning than the DS.
I wasnt aware of the Mizuno Aero until yesterday when in my local running shop. Its also a lightweight trainer, so am interested in getting some idea of how the three shoes stack up against one another.
I use the DS trainer and am pretty happy with it but am always on the lookout for something which may suit me better.

Sorry Pabags (although I can't apologise for everybody), but I too am interested in knowing the differences between these 3 shoes, but have not tried any of them!

I wore a pair of DS Trainers a couple of models ago - they were OK, but weren't too good for me beyond the 1/2M distance. I was then warned off a later model (can't remember which) because there was a suggestion they were a bit stiff? Which model DS are you running with at the moment? What is your weigh/height and what distances are you doing in them?

I have just purchased a pair of the Asics Landreth because they're neutral and are relatively light (330 grams), but am yet to try them out. I'll let you know how they go in a couple of weeks if that helps a little

Pabags and minersrun,

I too use to wear the DS Trainers for fast paced training and found them to be great.

I got a pair of Brooks Axioms a fortnight ago and they rock. Slightly lighter than the DS trainer, yet very supportive. The duo density midsole is split into 2 sections, so they are nearly as flexible as a racing flat, yet don't seem to lose any support. The innersole is awesome, as they are very supportive.

I actually did the Brooks Border Bolt 10k race in them and for the first time didn't score any blisters, so I was stoked!!

I know nothing about the Mizuno shoes tho, sorry.

Thanks Minersrun & Welshy

Minersrun - Use the current model DS which is version 10, yellow and white. Much better shoe than V9,I think Asics acknowledged there were some problems with a couple of versions prior to V10. There have been a couple of threads on this site about the DS trainers. Dont know how to direct you to them though! Sorry. <_<
Height 180cm and weight 80kg. Have used them up to 10k with no problems but am going to extend that out this weekend, probably 20k to see how they go.
Welshy - good to get that feedback as they came recommended by the owner of Runners World in Perth who is using them.
