The bayrunna has noticed the growing trend of Beast users around the bay.
This shoe seems to be more popular than ever with both the men and the ladies opting for the Beast.
The bayrunna went beast spotting last sun around the bay, loop, canal and newly named "lamontage straight" The "bay boys" did shores but it's still pretty quiet around this little addition, and there wasn't much beast action around.
The bayrunna is interested to know if anyone could recommend a lighter Brooks shoe, that is still quite supportive and can be used for faster stuff. (not the hyperion racer)
To the bay crowd- "Go the beast" is referring to your shoes.... not you!
Sorry to those who looked twice and thought I was insulting them.
If the BEAST fits, wear it.

Hi Bayrunna,
As a recent convert to Brooks may I suggest the Trance as a more responsive shoe. It is about 55g per shoe lighter than the Beast. You can find out more here brooks. . Unfortunately they have gone back to a predominately white shoe from the previous release of grey, yellow and blue.
Cheers, 26 miles.

All of the above arent as stable as your beast, the next best and lighter would be the Addiction, however a little bit wider and not as cushioned as the BEAST and they have a new racing flat out with heel and forefoot cushioning on the same last shape as an Adrenaline.. its red and white i cant think of the name but its on the brooks site, if not the aussie one the USA one.. try both of the above! :D

astral runner sees a man too keen to begin 'the faster stuff'.
astral sees that bayrunna narrowly avoided the surgeon's knife and would do well to remain loyal to his beasts for a little while yet.
astral wishes you well and sees that with patience comes great things. B)

Hi Bayrunna
Quite interestingly - I have always been an Asics 2080 (or equivalent series) wearer.
Last week I bought Brooks Adrenalin. Will have a good trot this weekend in them and will get back to you.
They are light and well cushioned - a bit ugly though!! :D
Anyway, will get back to you post run :)

Definately interested to hear what you come up with on this one Mr Bayrunner.
I've just started using Beasts and while a good training shoe, I reckon they'd be heavy to race in.
Let me know how you go.

My sincerest sympathy to all those Cool Runners who are made to wear this beastly shoe by nature or their shoe advisors. <_<
The beasts (of burden) seem to be the runners who have to wear this type of shoe.

have had a coupla pairs of beasts. one was noticeably harder than the other as they used a lighter less cushioned insert... this led to a different injury than the one that put me in beasts in the first place.
they are too heavy and if you can, try to wean yourself off them.
once stronger and lighter myself i found that i could wear lighter softer shoes and not have probs.
