Does anyone know of any retailer who might have some of the older model asics shoes floating about. Or can suggest a shoe that is similar to the 2090 or 2100 but with a softer heel area?
cheers
Try stringers sports for superseeded Asics. It looks like they have some 2090's.
But phone them first to check. They have a nasty policy of sending out the latest model if they've run out of the model that you ordered (apparently customers *like* this idea).
Rebel also appears to be clearing last season's stock.

But it does make you wonder, why would they change such a significant part of the shoe. Surely I am not the only one who this will happen to. How much faster would I really go with I high, hard heel cup as opposed to the the previous softer one.
No matter. You live and learn.

A dumb question, but if they are on ebay, haven't they already been used, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting new shoes.

And who is selling them?

eBay sellers are required to advise if goods are new or secondhand.
Who sells new running shoes? It seems to me that they are people who snap them up at fire sales, from businesses that go broke, etc., for the purpose of re-selling them.

Are you getting them from oz, or os?

I get them from the US. Ah, why don't you go to eBay and search for shoes that interest you, and read what they say?

I've bought several pairs of running shoes on eBay as well - all from the US. Even after you factor in the shipping cost (which might be about US$30) they still worked out at just over half the RRP here.
I think that in the US quite a few smaller retail stores actually use eBay as their internet shopfront. As with buying anything from eBay, you need to know what you want, be patient, and check the feedback score the seller has in their profile from previous transactions.

I buy my shoes from Northside Runners at Manly. Awesome prices and excellent service. I have found older models of shoes and Luke can get models if not in stock. Try giving him a call.

I am also a resident of gods own country in beautiful down town Curl Curl. I have bought my shoes from Northside runners for quite a while, but I hadn't even thought about asking luke for older models. D'oh.
Will give him a call today.
