I have used Asics Kayano for the last 3 years or so, but I race using DS trainers as they are much lighter. However I have quite a wide foot. The Kayano’s are a perfect fit for width but the DS trainers have always had a thinner profile and thus I always get blisters and sore feet. Do you make DS trainers with the same width at Kayano’s? or can recommend a race shoe that are wide.

I am a Kayano & DS Trainer wearer, whilst I too agree that the widths are different, I do not have too much of a problem, I just can't use the 'bunny ear' tying system and I do not tie them as tight.

But luckily I don't get blisters.

I have been wearing the Nike Zoom Elites for the past few weeks, which are similar, a little stiffer in the heel area but a nice shoe & weight is similar.

I've had 2 pairs of each and they're definitely different widths. If you want a wider lightweight shoe, the Brooks Burn is one you might want to check out.

cheers

tkr- Have used DS's for a while now and have just swapped over to the Zoom elite's which so far have been excellent.
Tried the Brooks Axiom which is a very lightweight trainer and has a wider forefoot than the DS. I found my foot moved around too much in them though so they could be worth a look.
