I recently bought nike coolmax socks at a sale. However they are a bit on the thinner side, so am thinking of wearing two of them. Perhaps they will then act similar to the double layered Wright socks??
Anyone on this forum wear two socks for your runs. Your experience please!
Thanks in advance.

Thing is, I have used other double layer coolmax socks such as Wright socks and I like them. Since I am now landed with the Nike coolmax socks (single layer) and I dont like them on their own, can I use two of them together to mimic the double layer effect?

Give it a go and see if it works for you - no-one else can wear your feet! :D

I used to wear 2 pairs of socks to avoid blisters. The idea was that the thin inner sock wicked its moisture through to the outer sock thus keeping the feet drier. It worked for the most part as I used to get heaps of blisters before with 1 pair but then stopped getting them with two pairs. I stopped getting them altogether when I started wearing Target Static-X socks. Bloody Target has stopped selling these socks now so I'm at a loss as to what to buy now.

I don't really understand why you would want to wear 2 socks on a foot, it would just increase the chance of problems that would result in blisters... If you want thick socks then wear Thorlo's.
I wear the Nike Coolmax the majority of the time with no problems at all. A good sock.

Try wearing the 2 socks and see how you go. I wonder what effect it will have on the fit of your foot in the shoe? There may be too much movement between the socks that may cause problems. Haven't had the need to try 2 pair myself so can speak from experience.

Unless your shoes are ill fitting I fail to see the benefit of wearing 2 pairs of socks.
In the past I have been foolish enough to run marathons with insufficient training, (and therefore soft feet). If you are trying to avoid blisters, I have used the following with success:
I wrap each toe independently in plaster (micropore), as well as the arch of each foot with elastoplast. I cut the foot off a pair of stockings, and sew these into my socks.
If I have the time, and remember, from 3 weeks before the event I spray each foot with metho. This hardens the skin (and gives me an excuse to have a beer watching the sunset).
Hope it works for you.

I have had a lot of blister troubl;e in the past and have now found the ultimate solution; i only ever (except in races) run on grass or sand, and always run barefoot. Prevents shoe wear, avoids blisters, is more fun, and feels great!
