Hi fellow runners,
I'm considering to purchase Nike Air Pegasus Light and I think it hasn't been released yet in Australia. I also heard that due to the strong A$, it's now cheaper to buy from the US.
Has anyone bought shoes from the US? Is there any potential custom duty or sort? (say, if I buy 2 pairs @ US$100 each). Also, if you have purchased shoes from on-line stores in the past, please give me the website address.
Thanks in advance.

I bought a pair of Kayanos from the USA. Was cheaper but not really worth the hassle. Just ordered my second pair of Loco shoes from this site. No real difference in price to import and the shoes seem to be as comfortable as anything else on the market.

U Slow
I bought some shoes (ASICS & Brooks) from the US recently. Good price and quick service. No problems. However, with all the sales on in Aus and no waiting, no shipping charge, no risk, I would not bother again.
FYI - Myer Melbourne have 30% off all shoes - my 2100 = $140 at Myer versus same shoe from US = $160 and a 10 day wait. Leo Russell = $160 every day.
The only benefit is sometimes you get a newer model or different colour - not worth it.

Bought first pair of Locos at 6Ft Track. Comfortable, reasonably priced and so far am very happy with them.

Utterly Slow
I've bought several pairs (Brooks and Mizuno but not Nike) from the US via eBay. Even after postage they have been less than half the RRP for the same shoe here in Australia.
As with all eBay shopping check the seller has positive feedback ratings and comments, search around and be prepared to wait a little for what you want.
I've only purchased one pair at a time and never had any customs problems. If you are bringing in 2 pair at the same time it would be worth checking the Customs website to see what the limit is.

I bought a pair of new Asics Trabuco's from US ebay that cost (including postage) way less than half price and arrived faster (about 6 working days) than when I've ordered them from a store here (local stores don't keep this model). There was no tax to pay either. The person I bought from actually refunded me half the postage because it cost him less that he quoted!! That was a pleasant suprise, made the shoes even cheaper.
