My problem is that they have discontinued my shoe, which was the older version of the Air Structure Triax. Does anyone have a suggestion about a replacement for this shoe?

They haven't discontinued the Air Structure Triax. They are still available and there will actually be a version 9 of the shoe out in the next few months. I'm currently the proud owner of about 5-6 pairs of the version 8 structure triax.

Structure triax, lovely soft light shoe but can lack stability as it wears away quicker than others. As for other shoes they will have a very different feel, wouldnt go Kayano but more the 2100 as they are still softish, Brooks Adrenaline stable but harder and possibly Adidas Supernova Control, excellent cushioning and stable. Try or have some fitted and see how you go!

As an ardent Triax wearer I can say that the Kayano's were not suitable for me. They caused calf tightness beyond what I already had so I retired them after about 60kms.
I've never tried any of the triax before v8 but I've seen them in the Nike Factory Outlet and they seemed pretty similar.
