I am just wondering if I am imagining it, but has anyone else noticed that mizuno shoes appear smaller than other brands even though the size is meant to be the same? Have other people who have bought these shoes had to buy larger sizes than normal?

Long time Mizuno user here, I find it also varies between the years / models. Have been wearing a mixture of Riders, Creations, Precisions over the past 5 years at least and sizes vary between US 9 and 10 in the same model but different year builds, whereas with other brands I usually take 9/9.5 never 10.
Have also found that the quality of the shoes seems to alternate every 2nd year for some strange reason. For example still have a pair of WaveRider 7's that have done more k's than a recent pair of 8's, but still are in much better condition and provide better cushioning.
Edit: Checked last night and the Wave Rider 5's were also much better than the build of the Rider 6's I own. Better go and try a pair of WR9's and compare with the 8's.

I normally take a size 11 in Asics but when I bought the Mizuno Waveriders I needed a size 12, and even they were a bit snug.

I noticed the same sizing issue - went up half a size when I switched from Brooks to Mizuno. Have to say, though, that the Mizunos are far more comfortable and it was definitely a good switch!
I found the Wave Maverick 2's felt faster but died a lot earlier than the Wave Maverick, but when my podiatrist contacted Mizuno they said there was no change in the EVA used, or any other differences, except styling. Now the Maveric 3's are fantastic.
I had no sizing change when I left Asics forever, but then, I had stopped running 70km weeks about the same time, and my feet weren't swollen ;)

I found the exact same thing, usually a womens size 7, now an 8!
I currently wear the previous Mustang design (as opposed to the current one), but my podiatrist reccommended the next pair to be with a little more support. Does anyone know the next mizuno shoe up in the support rankings??!!
Thanks ;)

Oh no, I recently ordered a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 9's in the same size as my old Asics.
Looks like that would be the Inspire.
I wear the same size Riders as all other brands but they are probably just a touch more roomy.

I have got four pairs of Mizuno Mustangs. My first pair was size 11 and was slightly too big for me. The second pair was 10.5 and was slightly small but still OK. The next two are 10.5 and are just the right size, although the 3rd pair is marginally larger than the 4th. All of these shoes look quite different but are essentially the same shoe. Judging by their European website, the next generation of Mustangs has been totally changed. Hope they keep the same fit (and make them in red this time!).

I take a 13 in both Asics and Mizuno. Never really thought about it before, but I guess I would probably be closer to a 12.5 (if it existed) for some Asics models, whereas a 13 Mizuno is a reasonably snug fit.

Definately half a size smaller when you look at the US sizing but the euro sizing(I'm w38) is right. I'm usually a 7 in Asics,Nike and Saucony but all are euro 38. I've just bought a pair(new) of Wave Ascend Trail from US ebay and was worried they might be a bit large but am happy they are perfect, and at 1/3 the AU price with postage I couldn't go wrong.
kazz.

Hmmm...interesting. I'm an 11.5 in both pairs of Mizuno I own (Inspire & Wave Elixir) although I do remember owning an 11 in the Mavericks a few years back. This is consistent with other shoes I've owned previously (about 4 pairs of Zoom Elites).
There's a real variation between makes, so the Euro size is often the way to go, as an adidas 11 is larger than a Nike 11 and so on.

Hey guys
Has anyone run in the Mizuno Wave Aero? I'm guessing it's a lighter weight shoe than the Precision and more neutral from what I can gather (from the Mizuno Europe site).
Just looking for any feedback on this shoe if anyone has used it.
