Bought a pair of 1110s just before Christmas, have done about 250k in them, very comfortable to run in. Noticed the toe rubber slightly separating a few weeks back but didn't worry much about it, then last week discovered that parts of the under-sole (the glued on black bits) are coming off on each shoe.

No problem with returning/replacing them it seems (still waiting on replacement to arrive in store), just curious to know if others have encountered similar problems or whether (hopefully) mine are a one-off lemon?

All my previous Asics have held together very well - bought my first of several 1100s in Dec 2004 and they are still going strong (at least for walking) after about 1000km of running. Maybe Bogong to Hotham is to blame for the 1110's early demise, but the 1100s had plenty of rough treatment too.

I've got a pair of 1110's and haven't had any trouble with them at all - almost done 400kms in them.

90% of my running is done on a treadmill though.
