Kelvin as improved but not sleeping so well. Now was that because he was up all night listening to his beloved Tigers take their first win of the season ? If a Tigers win can't inspire Kelvin to run well, in the absence of the stones playing at the finish line, i don't know what will Run Well Aussies, oi oi oi !!! -------------------- |

This is the best my phone could take.
Someone will have better ones, as there were heaps taken. We are having another team shoot at the start and the finish.

Who will be the top Aussie finisher? Martin Fryer has awesome credentials over ultra events and Dave Eadie is a former sub 29min 10km runner. (can he convert this form to an awesome ultra performance?) Everyone lining up means business.
Any tips for top Aussie and first international across the line? Arms -------------------- http://www.sweatsydney.com.au/

Goodmorning everyone. Its now almost 6am here and I've just ducked back to the hotel to repack some bags and check out before we make our way to the first checkpoint.
They got away to a chilly start - the car thermometre read 35 F and ICE. Brrr. I'm not sure how they'll go keeping body warmth given the steep ascent up Emmigrant pass. Gonna be freezing at the top - 8,700 ft and snow. The air is pretty thin up there too. After they had all left it became apparent that MRX's pacer and Blue Dog's pacer have run together numerous times, and some friendly rivalry exists . . . should make for an interesting run Aussies were in fine form at the start line and even got a burst the the American TV crew which will air their show in the first half of August. We gave them an "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi". I'll be travelling with Carol LaPlant, Mushroom Boy and Di Weaver through Robinson Flat, Michigan Bluff, Foresthill and then to the River where I hope to take up pacing duties. Best of luck to all the runners and the crew. I need all the driving help I can get (note to self - keep the line on the left). Everyone here really appreciates all the support from home. You guys rock! -------------------- The sooner you fall behind the more time you'll have to catch up.
If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. |

Gee, rotten luck RMC
Edit: A bit scary really; seeing that cutoff marker so close behind the 30Hr pacing group. It does seem pretty tight! This post has been edited by lostboy: Jun 24 2007, 01:09 PM -------------------- the next big thing-

? RMC Looks like RMC missed the cut at Devils thumb, 47.80mls. Bad luck RMC, i'm sure you gave it your all though. Edit: Obviously "dropped" means cutoff enforced and have to pull out. This post has been edited by chilliman: Jun 24 2007, 04:19 PM -------------------- |

The Australian record at WS is 22.33 from Max Bogenhuber's 1986 run (the first time an Australian did the race). Phibes should easily take that, plus a few more people perhaps.....
Bill T is behind the "virtual" 30 hour pacer, but he will inevitably make up time as the race progresses. -------------------- Need shirts or other promotional material for your race, club or business? Get Shirty can help.
