Just noticed that somehow my team finished 3rd in our category. (miracles do happen)

Apart from the glory of coming 3rd do we get any medals / certificate to go in our collection or shrine ??

Also we will be back next year to improve on our 3rd place.

My friends and I as got 3rd in our catergory      (mixed team) and hubby and my son got second in theirs (father and son 12-14years). Yes Big Daddy you do get medals but they can take months to arrive as the organisers have to wait in case there are any protests on positions. Congrats on your 3rd, What catergory did you get it in?

Hi Big Daddy,

As far as I know, they still do medals, pretty good ones too. Subject to any protests, and they do happen, I think the medals get mailed out within 1 or 2 months.

Pity you missed out on the function at the Fairfax building in the city. They stopped around the late 80's or early 90's.

I'd forgotten all about those functions until I read your post, Colin!  Weren't they the 'whole shebang'?  Dress up, supper, formal presentations of trophies & medals on stage in the Fairfax auditorium!  It was really something special to look forward to.

I managed 3rd place Age Category (70 & Over) this year but will try to improve on that next year!           LL

Thanks all for your feedback

Lynde to answer your question we came 3rd in the athletic club category (DJ-Athletic Clubs), this was totally unexpected but nonetheless a very nice suprise.

Did anyone else notice the extraordinary run by Colin McLeoud.  I don't have the results in front of me (so I think I've misspelt his name as well) but from memory he ran about 54 minutes in the over 65 category.

It would be interesting to know if this is a record for the over 65s but I'm not sure how to find out.  Once Action has assembled the results, it should be possible to work it out.

The C2S should probably already hold the age category records. But if they don't, they will soon.

Yes John, Colin McLeod's time of 54.41 in the 65to69 age groupp is absolutely fantastic. He will be in the over 70 age group next year which will give us old guys someone to chase. He is a nice person as well as being a great runner.

Still talking about Colin McLeods great run in 2002 he ran 54.30: 2003 54.33 and 55.27 in 2004 all in the 65 to 69 age group. I'm impressed!
