In response to Kevin Tillers request regarding insurance for the event,there is a new Public Liability pool that is an initiative of the Government and several leading insurers (Allianz,NRMA,and QBE). It has been established specifically for non profit organisations.

Interested parties are asked to visit the website www.community-care.com.au and register their interest. In a couple of weeks (when the NSW Civil Liability amendment legislation is proclaimed)and the Community Care joint venture will make an announcement letting people know how they can apply for this product and application forms can be sent out.

The race appears to meet the criteria (less than $2mil turnover, not for profit and volunteers involved), so hopefully this may resolve your insurance problems by 1. obtaining insurance for the event, and 2. a more economical premium charge, good luck
