Some people are talking about “dying soldier’s death”. If there is something like “runner’s death”, that’s how Stewart died. He passed away on the course of the cross- country run last Saturday.
Stewart was Poppy’s and mine workmate and friend. In his long running career he completed countless runs, his recent one was the Comrades in June finished in 8:40. He was very well known in Newcastle’s running circles.
His funeral is to be held at St Andrew’s Church, Broke, on Friday August 1, commencing at 10.30 am.
