Hi All

Does anyone know if Loco Running are still in business in Australia? It is not possible to buy shoes online since Friday 13th and no one responds to the emails.

Yeah - he's pretty much busy after the end of January. Trust me on this.

yes, my experience was also, that the email from loco site does not get attention, no response,

but, when I sent direct email to the person, or PM or used the phone and called, I got perfect fast service imediately.

Classic post - assume the great title is to get a rise out of me ?

We are operating as per normal.

I am not crash hot at answering every email I get, especially Jan-Mar when I am wearing another hat as a volunteer race director. However we do ship orders asap, its just some chit-chat emails get a lesser priority. Yes it means my non-paying gigs do impact my paying gigs. Sorry you were inconvenienced.

As for the website - great story there - registernow have disabled my cart and I am trying to get it going again. They wrote 2 weeks ago saying non-profit carts (eg coolrunning and six foot) are ok, but for-profit carts (eg Loco) have to buy an expensive and complex package (details from me if you are keen to know more). No leniency even though I bring them a lot of business thru six foot and cr. I asked for an extension as I was organising six foot, which they well know as they have just taken more than $100,000, so they chopped me off at the knees on the very race weekend when I was not at home or work. charming. f**kwits.

This post was not to get a rise, just genuine concern. I have no interest in provoking or upsetting anyone. I am glad to hear Loco are still going as I truly believe it to be the best shoe I have used in many years. Sorry to hear about Register Now playing hard ball. I assume for purchase of new shoes it will need to be phone and fax through order form or email?

Glad to hear it is business as usual.

I have been running in the bandito and it is now my fav shoe.

Kevin,

I would like to know more. I'm developing a running website for someone else (Bribie, Caboolture) and will be implementing a register now type solution. It's non-profit, but if they're going to treat you like that I won't use their solution, I'll look elsewhere. And tell them why.

Hi Kev,

Is there any chance you will have a stall at the GC marathon?
JoggerK
Our cart is working and happyhuman4 has had a considered response to his email.

Bellthorpe - Will email you separately. I should say I am a huge fan of registernow and highly recommened them. I do disagree (strongly) with a recent decision of theirs affecting "businesses".

Besty - We tried once and were knocked back as it "conflicts with their shoe sponsor".

OK, thanks Kev. I'll keep an eye on your website for info on any Loco appearances at upcoming events. Wouldn't mind trying a pair but would like to try on before ordering. Don't care much for the 'bells and whistles' trailrunners.

Just to close this out - registernow did re-instate our shopping cart on a 2-week strict time period, which has now expired.

We have decided to move our business to paypal (check out our new cart here). Basically Registernow unilaterally decided to change their model such that we would have to pay an additional $1000 per annum for no clear benefit to us and (the bit that sticks in my throat) no discussion/options beforehand even though we have been working with 5 years AND I bring them a LOT of business via Six Foot and Coolrunning. Sixfoot alone saw $120,000 put through their system.

As it turns out, paypal is more flexible ie we are in control and as a consequence we have some additional options now eg but shoes with or without the shoe box (discount if you don't take the box) and a good price if you buy 2 pairs of the same size/model at the same time.

Clearly if I have moved the Loco cart and if it goes well, then I might feel encouraged to seek out other better alternatives for sixfoot and coolrunning.

Not quite sure if this is exactly the right place for this question but here goes. I'm really interested in looking into a pair of curumbas but have I've heard that Loco's tend to fitting 1.5 sizes small or there abouts. If I already wear a 13US in Asics,Mizuno etc, seeing that 13 is the largest size in the curumba, is it likley that the fit would be too small for me?

Thanks a lot,

Joey

Joey,

In general Loco USA sizes are the same as anyone else's USA sizes.
eg I used to wear Brooks 9, I now eear Loco 9.
However Asics in particular you often need to go up a half size.
eg Asics 9 is approx Loco 9.5

However having said that it does depend on people's feet. Some people quote AUS or UK sizes so its not a proper USA sizing. Even then some people might go UP another half size or more. I have no idea why.

So back to the question : if you wear Asics 13 then its likely to be a Caramuba 13.5 which we don't do (all the models go to 13, except Mojo which goes to 15*). However we'd be happy to send you a 13 and refund if its not right or send a Mojo instead.

The best place to ask would be here surely but how about I send you an email offline tonight ?

(*) The logic is that most people that large will need the slightly heavier Mojo.

Thank you Kev, I would appreciate it a lot.
