I found THIS. Are we all wasting our money buying $150-200 shoes.
It talks about heal strike.
There are a lot of other problems out there ! eg pronation . I was told by a podiatrist to buy a shoe that had a stabiliser in it ! huh.gif

Interesting article Travy. I would have thought that your weight, pronation, arches etc are key determinants of buying a shoe.

The final lines are the key: "If something's worked for you stick with it. If you are getting frequently injured in your running shoes, then you need to think about trying something different"

Several years ago, I used to sometimes get sore knees after my runs. I then decided to get a pair of Asics Kayanos for around $250, and ALL of my problems stopped straight away. I've just bought my second pair, and I still have no problems.

So while I didn't read the article, I have no doubts that my shoes have helped hugely with my running. Worth every cent!

Dave.
