Cathy Freeman’s 400m Winning Streak
13 June 1998Compiled by David Tarbotton
Cathy Freeman took her 20th straight 400m win when she won in Eugene on May 31. The winning streak is currently one of the longest in Track & Field. Longer streaks are held by Astrid Kumbernuss (shot) and Wilson Kipketer (800m) both with 27 wins. With Astrid recovering from surgery and Wilson ill, both are unlikely to greatly extend their winning streaks in 1998.
