NEWCASTLE HUNTER REGION CHAMPIONSHIP:
Winners of this category must be first claim registered athletes within the Newcastle Hunter Region Branch of Athletics NSW to be eligible.

Rules
- Minimum age of competitors must be 18 years on day of run. (Excludes school relay entrants Division 5 runners). Mixed teams must have minimum two females.
- Entries will be accepted on the official entry form, or a photocopy, duly completed and signed by the entrant.
- The appropriate fee to be enclosed for each entrant.
- Each competitor will run the approved course as directed, will not accept outside assistance and will accept the referees decision as final.
- No competitor will be awarded a place unless he/she wears an official competitors number on his/her chest so that the allotted number may be easily seen throughout the duration of the run.
- Competitors must run where directed by officials and/or police.
- Team entries to be forwarded on individual forms, stapled together and forwarded in one envelope. Team entries close Wednesday 16 June 199.
- The event shall be officially declared over at 10.30 am.

Trophies & Prizes
Medallions will be awarded to first, second and third placegetters in Divisions 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. All competitors are automatically entered for Division 1 & 2. The outright winners, male and female, will each receive a special trophy and have their names recorded on the perpetual trophy to be kept at Lake Macquarie City Council.

Notes for Entrants
Parking:
Parking will be available at Lake Macquarie Athletic Park, Speers Point
Facilities:
Changing rooms, canteen, shower and toilet facilities available at the track extra toilets available in park on the day. Physiotherapy will be available before and after the run at ground.
Start assembly:
All participants must assemble in the start area by 7.50 am.
Course:
See map. Refreshment stands placed regularly along the course (5 drink stations plus home station).
Finish procedure:
Runners shall receive place cards and should proceed to recording area. Times will be tabled on a finish timing board. Runners retiring from the run early should proceed to the nearest refreshment station to be transported back to starting point. Please then report to age category table.
Medical stations:
A doctor and physiotherapist as well as medical staff will be available at the ground, first aid officers will be stationed around the course should the need arise.
Course markings:
Each kilometre of the course will be marked. Each five kilometre will be marked by a sponsor marking. Timekeepers will be stationed around the course at 5, 10, 15 and 20km marks.
