6 ORE DEI TEMPLARI 2010 TEMPLAR KNIGHTS MEET THE ULTRAMARATHON Banzi, Basilicata (Southern Italy)

The legendary Templar Knights were lost and saintly souls and heroes of the Crusades, who left their marks on the beautiful landscape of Basilicata. The ultramarathon/marathon “6 Ore dei Templari-Memorial Vito Frangione” aims to recall history and tradition by linking them to sport.

In Banzi, one of Basilicata’s most representatives “Templar cities”, you will enjoy a powerful running contest which takes place in an evocative landscape, full of Italy’s famous human touch. You have a choice of a 6-hour ultramarathon, or the traditional marathon distance of 42.195m.

In April 2009 the “6 Ore dei Templari – Memorial Vito Frangione” attracted runners from all over Italy. The next edition will take place on the 8th of May, 2010, in Banzi, starting at 2pm, accredited for both the IUTA Italian Ultramarathon Championship and the IAU Bronze Label. The organizers (the sports association “Genzano on the Road”) look forward to welcoming to Banzi all foreign athletes who would like to join the ultramarathon/marathon “6 Ore dei Templari”. We need your legs and your enthusiasm!
