Donation to Papua New Guinea - Nov-2007
From CoolRunning Australia
Back to Recycled Runners
We were contacted by the Jeremy Cox from Tasmania who has some contacts who live and work in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea who run with the Port Moresby Runners, which has a lot of local runners who run barefeet
I cannot tell you how happy your kindness made the local Papua New Guinean runners of the Port Moresby Road Runners on Saturday. Their eyes lit up when the shoes came out - and very good quality shoes they were too. I attach a photo taken after the shoes were handed out. It wasn't easy to get everyone together as they were all busy admiring and comparing their new shoes. Some of the younger ones had never owned a pair, so it was a pretty special day for them. Pictured from left, are Paulus Opus with big smile, Joe Kaikai holding shoes up. I will send you a few other photos as well. Thanks again Kevin, Jeremy and CoolRunning! Best regards, Simon Nutley
We donated 131 pairs of mixed sizes.
