Introduction

In general, runners are just like any other segment of the population : some eat healthy and some eat junk food, and some eat food likely to help them achieve their best running and other eat food that hinders their performance.

It is quite possible to find elite runners that subscribe to every type of diet, and from reading the CoolRunning Nutrition threads, you can see that even in the segment of CoolRunners, that every diet is in evidence, so don't get the idea that there is only one type of optimal diet that will work for you.
