Centennial Park Runners
Also known as the 'Jack Gillooly’ runners, we are a small group of women and men, mostly aged 40 to 80+ (but kids and grandkids also), who meet every Sunday, rain or shine, before 10.30am near the Pavilion and caravan food stall on Parkes Drive. Email David Iverach for a map of the start point and run route.
We come from a diverse range of backgrounds with just one thing in common – we enjoy the exercise of getting around the ‘5km track’ and the social interaction that goes with it.
There are no fees or prizes involved although accurate records are kept of times so you can track your improvement (or deterioration!). The start is staggered with slower participants going first with the objective being that we all finish pretty much together. At present the fastest runners are in the low 20’s and quite a few of us are around the 30 and 40+ minute mark.
