Run for Emma: fundraising team for Sydney City to Surf
Emma Foster was 26 years old when she took her life and died alone in her bedroom clutching her childhood teddy. For 13 years Emma had battled drug abuse, anorexia and a range of self-destructive behaviours. Emma was a victim of child abuse.
ASCA's long-term strategy is to ensure that all adult survivors of child abuse gain to access the services they need to facilitate their health, wellbeing and meaningful engagement within their lives. Recent studies show that skills-based programs and appropriate therapeutic intervention can significantly reduce the legacy of childhood trauma.
