A reminder for all clubs and community groups that a fundraising opportunity exists for the weetbix kids TRY-athlon. The first event kicks off in Sydney on the 1st of February followed by Perth on the 8th of February and Melbourne on the 22nd. Anyone interested in volunteering at any of these events can contact aaron.freeman@usmevents.com.au . This is a great opportunity to raise funds for your club while helping to promote healthy lifestyles for kids.

Over 2600 schools across Australia encouraged their students to participate in last year’s series and since its inception in 1999 over 55,000 Aussie kids have participated in the event, a feat that could not have been achieved without the help from the thousands of community spirited people particularly those from sporting clubs who have assisted with the running of the event as marshals.

As the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRY-athlon grows USM EVENTS has committed itself to promote the ongoing community support of this event. Our aim in doing this is to work together with local communities to promote healthy lifestyles for kids.

So are you interested in a day of getting involved promoting your sport to kids? If you are, we are looking for club members to volunteer as marshals. It is quite simple the best marshals for an event like this are the ones who are passionate about their community.

Through your club or organisation we would like to offer you the opportunity to be involved assisting us with organising MARSHALS for this exciting event. A donation to your Club of $25 per marshal is offered in return for your members acting as marshals required for the swim, cycle and run legs of the event. Each marshal will also receive a hat, T Shirt, and some Sponsor’s products in a kit bag.

Volunteers are required to meet between 6.00am–6.30am. Briefing will be at 6.45am. The first duties will start at 7.00am and will include assistance with checking in and numbering the youngsters, and place bikes in racks. At around 8.00 to 8.30am some marshals will move to the swim, cycle, run or recovery area to be ready for the 9.00am start.
