Other: This club is a social club with no formalisation, all runners run together with the faster runners looping back behind the slower runners every km or thereabouts. This allows for an enjoyable social group run while still providing runners with competitive spirits to train for events. The Ba-Thirst runners group has been running for 30 over years. Centennial Park Runners
Also known as the 'Jack Gillooly’ runners, we are a small group of women and men, mostly aged 40 to 80+ (but kids and grandkids also), who meet every Sunday, rain or shine, before 10.30am near the Pavilion and caravan food stall on Parkes Drive. We come from a diverse range of backgrounds with just one thing in common – we enjoy the exercise of getting around the ‘5km track’ and the social interaction that goes with it.
There are no fees or prizes involved although accurate records are kept of times so you can track your improvement (or deterioration!). The start is staggered with slower participants going first with the objective being that we all finish pretty much together. At present the fastest runners are in the low 20’s and quite a few of us are around the 30 and 40+ minute mark.

GENERAL INFORMATION The Club conducts cross country running events in the Newcastle-Hunter Region. Most of the events are organised by athletic clubs or running groups within the area. Any member is eligible to run in any event, however to be eligible for prizes at some special events you must be registered with ANSW & reside within the region as allocated by ANSW.
MEMBERSHIP is open to anyone subject to completing an application form and paying a Registration Fee.

START TIMES Unless noted otherwise all events start at 2.00pm check the program as some special events will start at 1.00pm. Others have closing times of 1:30 pm. You should register at least 15 mins. before the start.
PRIZES are awarded at the annual presentation held at the last event on the calendar, they are decided by a handicap and graded point score throughout the season and there is also an interclub point score. Prizes at some special events may be presented on the day. See program.

Training Details: Wednesday 5pm 3km Handicap event. Sunday 10am (9am during Summer) from 3km to 15km. We are the largest running club in the Central West of N.S.W. with more than 400 members. We cater for all runners from National Champions to Walkers. From the very young to the very old. Everyone is welcome. Wednesday's run is a 3km Handicap event that starts at Elephant Park. It's a 1km track along a meandering creek which we share with beautiful autumn leaves and many ducks. Sunday runs are over approximately 10 different venues around the city.
