Further IAU Resignations

Following the resignations of International Association of Ultrarunners Executive members Dan Brannen, Andy Milroy and Geoff Hook last week, the global Ultrarunning body took a step further into crisis today with two more resignations. The two remaining members of the IAU Technical Committee decided to terminate their association with the organisation.

Peter Riegel, who is the IAAF Measurement Co-ordinator for the Americas and Chairman of the USA Track and Field Road Running Technical Council, has resigned in support of the position taken by Brannen, Milroy and Hook.

He has been joined in this action by the vastly experienced and knowledgeable British official Roger Lawton.

The Technical Committee of the IAU is now defunct following the resignations of Pete Riegel and Roger Lawton. The other members of the Committee, the Chairman, the former IAU Technical Director Andy Milroy, and the Executive member Geoff Hook, had already resigned.
