Westfield Sydney to Melbourne Book
18th May 2004Phil Essam has released an upgraded 2nd edition of his book about the Westfield Sydney to Melbourne Ultramarathon race "I have finally found my hero".
A short summary of the book can still be read, since the 1st edition was self-published in 1999.
The 222-page epic is now available as a free download as an Adobe-PDF file here [849kb]

The difference between the 1st and 2nd editions is the addition of one or two runner and spectator reports, some additional proof-reading and formatting.
A third edition is planned, and will likely include some photos from the era and as many first-hand recollections as possible. If you feel that you would like to contribute something to this unique project, please contact the author Phil Essam at pessam@bigpond.net.au.
Reader Tip: You can download the book and take it to your nearest print/copy shop - they should be able to print it in a booklet format or even bind it, depending on your budget.
