2007 Mt Buller run cancelled

Back to Mansfield to Mt Buller
Like Bogong to Hotham and the Alpine 100 miler, the 2007 Mansfield to Buller is a victim of the bush fires. Word from authorities today is that the road will be closed for clean up operations etc etc until February 3rd.
This will be the second cancellation due to fires [2003 being the other] since our first run in 1991.
While cancelling is a disappointment, there is a much bigger picture to consider. A large portion of the state has been burnt and continues to burn in what is now the 50th day. People have suffered major losses and two lives have been lost. The last thing these areas need is a bunch of runners getting in the way.
All being well, the next Mansfield to Buller run will be in January 2008. Hope to see everyone there.
