Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon

The Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon has it all, 90% off-road, on river tracks with bush scenery, sleepy lagoons, hill top views and the lake. Come to Wagga Wagga for this unique Marathon experience, run the magnificent Wiradjuri walking track around the city of Wagga Wagga.

Sponsored by Asics the Athlete’s Foot; male and female marathon winners will receive a $200 Asics voucher; second and third place male and female will receive a trophy and a gift from The Athlete’s Foot; the relay winning team will receive a $200 Asics voucher; 1st, 2nd and 3rd medals; the 10 km male and female winners will each receive $100 Asics voucher each and 2nd, 3rd medals, winners and place getters of the 3km fun walk/run participants will be given The Athlete’s Foot gift prizes.

The Beach start and finish

Wagga Beach, home of the "5 o'clock wave" is the start and finish for all events. A popular location for swimming or canoeing, with beach sand along the water's edge and large grassed areas, it also provides a great spot, after the run, for the free barbecue and a cool off in the waters of the Murrumbidgee River.

Marathon

Run the Wiradjuri track around the city of Wagga Wagga, 42.2 km. starting at 8.30 am (with a 7.30 am Early Start available to entrants over 60 years and those providing evidence from other marathons they would take longer than 5 hours to complete the marathon).

Relay Run

The Relay is the marathon route and distance, and starts with the marathon, but allows four persons a chance to complete 10-12 km stages along the route in relay fashion (or two persons each running ca 21 km; or three persons with two stages of 10-12 km and one of 20-22 km). There are two perpetual trophies one business house challenge and a “Battle of the Bases” Defence force challenge.

10 km and 3 km Fun Walk/Run

These start at the beach, at 9.00 am, after the marathon and relay runners are away. The route is part of the marathon, with a return along the same track after 5 km or 1.5 km, respectively.

Register online here. The website allows you to complete registration and payment by credit card up to 5 pm, Saturday August 15th.

If you do not have a credit card, you can download the entry form and forward the completed form and payment (by cheque or money order only) to Wagga Wagga Marathon, PO Box 8606, Kooringal, NSW 2650. After 5pm, August 15th, entries (cash or cheque payment only; not by card) can only be taken at the registration desk, open 2.00 - 6.30 pm on Saturday, August 15th at the Riverine Club, Sturt St., Wagga Wagga (if this is not possible, then at Wagga Beach at 7:30am on the day of the run). Run chest numbers will be available at the Registration desk (2:00-6:30 pm, Saturday August 15th at the Riverine Club; or 7:30 am, Sunday August 16th at Wagga Beach).

Fees

Marathon $65; Marathon relay team $65; 10 km runners $15; 3km is free. An early bird entry fee $55 is available for the marathon and each marathon relay team, and $12 for the 10 km event until July 14th (after July 14th entry is $65 for marathon and marathon relay, and $15 for the 10 km run). Pasta dinner

A 3-course pasta dinner is available for runners, family members, and members of the Wagga Wagga Road Runners, commencing at 6.30 pm, Saturday 15th August at the Riverine Club (Sturt St., Wagga Wagga). The cost is $28/person. Book online or via the Entry Form. Subject to space, late bookings may be made on the day at the registration desk at the Riverine Club, 2.00 - 6.30 pm.

Marathon Accommodation

Stay in the magnificent historic Riverine Club (shared bathrooms) just 300 meters from the start and finish in Sturt St. The Club has limited rooms, so allocation is on a first in basis. There are double and twin rooms ($80/night) and one single room ($65/night). An additional bed can be added to a room for $15.00. The club provides late check out for runners to shower after the run, and is only 300m from the Start location. Book online or via the Entry Form.

Other Accommodation

Arrangements have been made with a 4 star motel to have late check-out for runners: Boulevarde Motor Inn, 305-309 Edward Street Wagga Wagga, (02 69255388), about 2.5 km from the start.
